The Public Prosecution Service (OM) is struggling with outdated systems. As a result, employees have had a lot to do with non-stable IT facilities in the past. It also went wrong again at the end of March. In the meantime, it has been decided to replace the hardware where the malfunction was.
Minister David van Weel (Justice and Security) answers this to questions from MP Songül Mutluer (GroenLinks-PvdA). “The current IT problem within the OM is the result of a long-term disadvantage in the development and professionalization of the provision of information,” says the minister. In recent years, substantial investments have been made in IT, but future -proof ICT still requires great efforts. The task for the OM is great. The stabilization and renewal of the IT can only be picked up step by step, at a manageable pace.
